Western Red Cedar is one of our commonly used imported timbers. It is native to Canada and America. It contains natural preservatives that give it a distinct sweet, pleasant smelling odour. Not only do the natural preservatives make it smell nice, they also help the timber resist moisture and decay making it an ideal choice for external doors. It has a fine grain that runs straight and a spectrum of earthy colours from a very pale honey to reddish cinnamons to rich browns. All of these colours combined make a striking feature door.
