Want something a bit different? Try Tasmanian Myrtle. This stunning timber can range from pale pink in colour to a rich red through to an almost orange brown. It gets it's distinctive colouring from the soil that it is grown in and the basalt rock underground. It has a very fine, close grain that is mostly straight and when polished generates a warmth that most other timbers don't.
